Eight months into my break, I still could not figure out which direction I should focus on. I was doing what I liked to do, and ended up doing a lot of interesting stuff.
And last week, it struck me. If I am to do something that I like, ( I hate using the term for the rest of my life), it has to be on stage. Or behind the stage. Like speaking, or speech writing, or acting, or directing, or compeering, or being an RJ.. the options are plenty.
Getting that direction clear in my mind was a big thing. An 'aha' moment, if I may call it so. Apparently, it was not such an 'aha' moment to my near and dear ones. They knew it all along, it seems.
The earliest performance on stage I can remember was the speech I gave while I was in class 1. (It was a small school, and had classes only till class 2.) I was the school leader by the time I was in class 2, and was making speeches for the independence day and the school anniversary. Amma used to write out the speeches, I would learn them by heart, and have a great time on stage. I remember the independence day speech while I was in class 2. I absorbed myself in that speech so much. Apparently, the audience liked it as well. The principal took me to her room after the speech and gave me two chocolates. Pretty huge in class 2.
Dramas, mimes, speeches, JAM, compeering, and even a Kathaprasangam once. Stage has been a cosy place for me.
To borrow from Pt. Nehru, now the time comes, to redeem the pledge, at least very substantially.
Till then.. Cheers!
Great to know that you are a born talented person. We are lucky to have you with us. James Shirly a peot said there is no armour againt fate! yes. somehting has to happen will happen. At times things on come clear to you. Better to wait rather than taking drastic decisons. I could see some greatness in you but I do not know what, how and when the world will come to know about it. First time i writing a comment
